Crusty Adventures: Season 2 - Brett Interviews the World

For the first time in my life, I've put my journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin to use. While killing time in Sri Lanka, I surveyed locals about my lack of hit songs, the past, the future, and the state of my touring career in Asia. This is one of my favorite episodes so far. The Danimal manned the camera while we interviewed the good people of Sri Lanka (and Italy). Along the journey, we were finishing the new album, "Land Air Sea Garage." After three months of laying low and getting dominated by paperwork, booking emails and general admin, I'm excited to announce our return to Europe at the end of summer! The people there have been good to us, so we're back in force starting 18 Aug in Norway and then moving into Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland & Austria. The Danimal will be returning with me and we're bringing Land Air Sea Garage, a fresh new album for your earballs.

Live now, we have a Punchstarter Campaign to bring this new album to life. We don't have big label money or angel investors to help us fund a big release like this, so support from our friends, fans and allies are the only way we can make it happen. When it comes to touring Europe, it's tough to find more of a "time warp" locale than Prague–it's both pristine & medieval. Last fall, we spent three days filming "Garage" with our Dutchman pal, Cyrion Willems (Mokum Sessions). It’s a song about pulling oneself out of limbo by ignoring the pressures of outdated social “norms” set up by old dead white guys who didn’t have the internet.

Twangville premieres the video for "Garage," our first single from the forthcoming release "Land Air Sea Garage." The new album is currently under construction via a Punchstarter Campaign and we need your help bringing it to life and into the the world. LASG is available for pre-order–along with a handful of sweet rewards for supporting the cause–until August 12.

Land Air Sea Garage

Posting up in the Sri Lankan jungle for three weeks, my manager Danimal and I were putting the finishing touches on a new album called Land Air Sea Garage. We were on the final leg of a 3.5-month world tour across Europe, Asia, Australia, and America, playing shows while simultaneously writing, recording, and mixing an LP. It was a completely manic, yet cathartic effort. The process tested the limits of our willpower, friendship, physical stamina and mental toughness. By the end of tour we had circumnavigated the world once over, assembling 11 songs across four continents. Finally, the album is nearly complete!

Land Air Sea Garage maintains the tenets of minimalism while adding a few more layers and corners than "American Folk Armageddon." Make My Day Records will release the album in Europe on 18 August. Danimal and I will be touring the EU for 7 weeks before returning to American soil for a November 4 US release date and tour.

Costs associated with Land Air Sea Garage are substantial and we've launched a two-part campaign to recoup losses and launch the album into the world. Your support is more than welcome and totally optional. :)
