Brett: The podcast movement has been such a beautiful catalyst for transparent honestly. Because you could never get this from mainstream media or TV, and now you can go straight to the source with no filtering. Even doing this podcast has been unbelievable therapy just for me. I’m saying things I’ve never thought I had the guts to say.

And not only does it feel amazing, but people have messaged me saying how useful it is. They’re saying, “I had this same problem, I didn’t know I was allowed to talk about that” and it’s a nice two-way street. The pod has just blown my mind as to what it’s capable of, therapeutically.

Christopher: Yeah that’s true. You forget that there are a whole bunch of people on teh other side of that. You're sitting along with a microphone and a beer, and rambling. I remember the first time I was on Joe Rogan’s podcast, I told some story about how when I was a kid, my kung-fu teacher had killed his father.

This was a long time ago in western Pennsylvania, I was 14 or 15. And Joe and I had been talking about martial arts, since it was one of the things we had in common I guess.

Brett: This guy killed a guy with kung fu!?

Christopher: Yeah. He and his dad got into some epic kung-fu fight with samurai swords and shit. Anyway, I told Joe this story, and a week later I got an email from a guy saying, “Hey, I heard you on Rogan talking about this case. I was the prosecuting attorney for that case, and I can tell you some of the things you didn’t know that happened.”

Because my family moved shortly after that happened, so I really never knew if the guy went to prison or anything.

Anyway, the point is that, Jesus, you're talking to a LOT of people when you're hanging out with Rogan! And it feels like you’re just hanging out with Rogan, but...you’d better not bullshit! If I had told some lie, people would have been able to say I’m full of shit. You forget, because it’s such an intimate thing.

Like, right now, you’re sitting in your living room, I see your curtains and your art, and I’m in my place, so we’re both comfortable.

Brett: Right, yeah.

Christopher: We’re not in a TV studio. We’re not reminded that there’s an audience. Because we don’t hear them or see them.

Brett: Totally, you feel safe. Maybe you’re not. I honestly have nightmares about being on Joe Rogan’s show. I’ll wake up in a sweat that I’m bombing on Rogan.

Christopher: Dude, I’ve bombed on Rogan so many times. Everytime I feel like I’m bombing. BEcause you're with ROGAN. The first time I was on Joe Rogan’s podcast was the worst, though, I don’t know if I told you about this.

Brett: I think so, yeah?

Christopher: Well he got me high. And I was so high I couldn’t think, much less talk.

Brett: But you keep getting asked back. I feel I’ve heard most of your Rogan, and I feel you’ve delivered. You keep going back on that show, so that’s cool. But you DO have some anxiety on that show?

Christopher: Well if I get high I do.
